Obituary of Selena Henny

Selena Kraybill Henny, 95, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA, formerly of Elizabethtown, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, December 18, 2016, at Pleasant View. Born in Elizabethtown on December 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Irvin L. and Elizabeth Haldeman Kraybill. She lived in her hometown until moving to Pleasant View at the age of 92. Selena was the wife of the late Paul E. Henny for 57 years prior to his death on September 24, 2007, faithfully caring for him in his last years of declining health. She was blessed to enjoy an active life until the time of her sudden illness, including a wonderful trip to the New Jersey recently. Selena was devoted to her family and friends and the love for her Lord and Savior shined forth in her life. Following her graduation from Elizabethtown High School, she was employed full time by Hershey Chocolate Factory until the birth of her first child. Selena was a lifelong, active member of Mount Calvary Church in Elizabethtown where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served as custodian with her husband for 19 years. Selena enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitch, and many family members and friends received gifts of her handiwork. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon L., wife of Ross W. Ellison, of Hershey, and a son, Daryl E. Henny and Trudy L. Woodring, of Enola. Also surviving are three sisters, Ruth Bixler, Manheim, Naomi Irvin and Geraldine Longenecker, both of Mount Joy; four nephews and three nieces; and special friends, Barbara and Martha Nelms. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Risser, a brother, David Kraybill, an infant brother Donald Kraybill, a niece, Bethel Baker, and a nephew, Dale Irvin.
