Obituary of Lee R. Bashore

Lee R. Bashore, Sr., 85, of Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Tuesday evening, July 11, 2017 at Juniper Village at Lebanon. Born in Clay Twp., Lancaster Co., he was the son of the late Isaac E. and Amy K. Gettle Bashore. He was the husband of the late Annamae G. Miller Bashore for 48 years prior to her passing in 2015. Lee grew up on a farm outside of Bethel and graduated from the former Bethel High School. He was a member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren and a faithful and committed volunteer with Lebanon County Christian Ministries for more than 20 years. Prior to retiring in 1997, he was employed by Cornwall Aluminum. Earlier he was employed as a molder by the former Industrial Castings in Myerstown and as a carpenter for Howard Stauffer. In addition to fishing and vegetable gardening, he enjoyed the family dogs and watching the Phillies. He and Annamae were members of the North Lebanon Senior Center and enjoyed traveling together, including trips to the Outer Banks and to Dollywood. Lee is survived by three children, Lee R., Jr., husband of Sharon M. Dreibelbis Bashore, of Swedesboro, NJ, Robert L. Bashore of Shillington, and Cathy L., wife of John E. Gable, of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Janelle Gechter, Angela Bashore, Robert J. Bashore, Quentin Gable, Molly Gable, and Caleb Gable; and two great grandchildren, Kamella and Mason Gechter. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry L. Bashore; and four siblings, Walter Bashore, Laura Eisenhauer, Grace Bare, and Guy Bashore. A memorial service will be held on Monday morning, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Lebanon Church of the Brethren, 400 Locust Street, Lebanon, PA with Pastor Ronald E. Ludwick officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf's Union Meetinghouse Cemetery, Jonestown. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
