Obituary of Elsie S. DeJesus

Elsie Kreider Shelley DeJesus, 89, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home. Born in Conewago Twp., Dauphin County, she was the daughter of the late Franklin B. and Edith Bricker Kreider. She was the wife of Angel M. DeJesus for 48 years on May 5. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marlin L. Shelley, in 1964. Elsie and her husband co-founded the Open Door Pentecostal Mission Church in East Petersburg in 1970 and supported his ministry there and around the United States and the world as they traveled preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a finisher by Warner Lambert for 23 year. Previously, she was employed by A&P Market and various other jobs. One of Elsie's hobbies was photography. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jay Shelley of Lititz; six step children, Angelus, wife of Dennis Cassel, of Brickerville, Alleese, wife of Mike Tuscan, of Manheim, Angel, Jr., husband of Sandy DeJesus, of Mechanicsburg, Jesse, husband of Tammy DeJesus, of Mount Joy, Ragena, wife of Tim McCauslin, of Biglerville, and Kasey, husband of Clarelyn DeJesus, of Landisburg; 25 granchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren; and two siblings, Clair Kreider of Elizabethtown and Richard, husband of Loretta Kreider, of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by two children, Patricia Rambler and Edward Shelley; a grandson, Wayne Edward Shelley; and six siblings, Dorothy Wheeler, Kathryn Eckert, Russell Kreider, James Kreider, Franklin Kreider, and Esther Gingrich. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Open Door Pentecostal Mission Church, 6139 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520 with her grandson, Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Rambler, PhD, officiating. Interment will follow in Ruhl's Cemetery, Manheim. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers. If desired, contributions may be made to the mission fund of the Open Door Pentecostal Mission Church.
