Obituary of Jere l. Allison

Jere L. "Sparky" Allison, Sr., 60, of 1139 East Meadow Road, Manheim, PA, died Wednesday morning, June 17, 2009 at Lancashire Hall in Lancaster, PA following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Robert L. Allison of Lititz, PA and the late Mary Stormfeltz Allison. He was married to Daria Dziunka Allison for 38 years on December 12. Jere was employed as a truck driver by Charles Shirk Trucking of Terre Hill, PA. He was a collector of Lionel trains and Hess trucks. He enjoyed traveling, motorcycle riding, and playing computer video games. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by three sons, Jere L. Allison, Jr. of Elizabethtown, PA, John P. Allison of Ephrata, PA, and Brian L. Allison of Manheim; six grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and six siblings, David, husband of Nita Allison of Manheim, Robert Allison, companion of Judy Auker, Trudy, wife of Craig Waltz, Patty, wife of Ralph Smith, Thomas Allison, and Steve Allison, all of Lititz. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Norida Allison and Trina Allison. A funeral service will be held at Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA on Monday evening, June 22, 2009 at 8:00 PM. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the Hoffer Auditorium on Monday evening from 6:30 PM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted.
