Obituary of William L. Smith

William L. Smith, 78, of 552 Camp Strause Road, Fredericksburg, PA, formerly of Pine Grove, PA, died Tuesday evening, July 28, 2009 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, PA. Born in Mount Etna, PA, he was the son of the late Laura King Kreiser. During the Korean War, Mr. Smith served in the United States Army as a private first class. He was employed as a deliveryman by the former Capital Bakers for more than 26 years. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group, NRA, and the Brookside Gun Club in Pine Grove. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and snow skiing. He is survived by a daughter, Beverly L., wife of Karl Kreider, of Jonestown, PA; two sons, Craig P., husband of Lori Krause Smith, of Lancaster, PA, and Jeffrey S., husband of Kimberly Finnegan Smith of Lebanon, PA; six grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and three sisters, Ruby, Peggy, and Cindy. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Ono United Methodist Church, 9 Main Street, Ono, PA on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 12:30 PM with Rev. Daniel Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made in his memory to Veterans Administration Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
