Obituary of R. Elaine Dalley

R. Elaine Dalley, 87, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 7, 2017 at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Elmer H. and Esther Kreider Hershey. She was the wife of the late Milton M. Dalley who died in 2015. Elaine was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manheim. She was a 1948 graduate of Manheim High School. Prior to retiring, she was employed as an inspector by Datcon in East Petersburg for more than 20 years. Previously, she was employed by the former Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster and Woodstream in Lititz. She enjoyed cats, making wicker baskets, and collecting teddy bears, She and Milton enjoyed attending public auctions and local mud sales. She is survived by a son, James G., husband of Lorie Sonnen, of York; a stepson, Christopher D. Dalley of Bethlehem; a brother, J. Richard, husband of Mary Allice Hershey, of Duluth, MN; and two nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven E. Sonnen, and a brother, E. Eugene Hershey. A graveside service will be held on Saturday morning, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Kauffman Mennonite Cemetery, 1355 Lancaster Road, Manheim, PA. There will be no viewing. Please omit flowers.
