Obituary of Robert E. Roth

Robert E. "Bob" Roth, 82, of Elizabethtown, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, January 6, 2018 at Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown. Born in Florin, PA, he was the son of the late John G. and Hazel Webb Roth. He was the husband of Shirley A. Roth for 63 years on April 17. Bob attended Grace Brethren Church of Elizabethtown. He was employed for 25 years as an orthotist (brace builder) by the Crippled Children's Hospital in Elizabethtown until its closing in 1982. He then owned and operated his own automobile repair business until he retired in 2000. Bob's interests were wide and varied. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Robyn A., wife of William Fisher, of Rheems, Cheryl A., wife of Dale Kreider, of Hershey, Patsy A., wife of Ron Myers, of Elizabethtown, Debbie A., wife of Edward Gehman, of Maytown, and Carol A., wife of Curtis Zell, of Elizabethtown; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a sister, Jeannine, wife of Glenn Stoner, of Palmyra; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Roth of Elizabethtown and Lois Roth of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Roth, Jr., and two brothers, Kenneth and John Roth. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Masonic Village for the excellent care given to Bob and his family during his stay there. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Grace Brethren Church, 305 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Private interment will be in Bossler Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown. There will be no public viewing. If desired, contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church of Elizabethtown.
