Obituary of B. Musser Forry

Please share a memory of B. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
B. Musser Forry, 91, of Manheim, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, July 17, 2018, at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Benjamin H. and Mary Musser Forry. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl K. Forry, and a grandson, Jared T Forry. A graduate of Mount Joy High School, Musser was a lifelong farmer and agripreneur. He pioneered one of the first slatted floor steer operations in Lancaster County. Musser's family hosted busloads of farmers who enjoyed visiting a diversified farm during those years that consisted of steers, broilers and layer chickens, as well as a variety of field crops. They were interested in his unconventional, but successful, business acumen. Good stewardship of his gifts defined his service in many other areas. He was a 33 year member of the Messiah Village Board of Trustees in Mechanicsburg, director of the Farm Credit Association, and member of Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church in Mount Joy where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, trustee, member of the building committee, and gave active leadership in the life of the church throughout his lifetime. Musser was much loved as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He devoted his life to fostering prosperity in his field of endeavor and will be lovingly remembered by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna M. Espenshade Forry; two sons, Dennis L., husband of Kristine of Lebanon and Gary K., husband of Lynne of Manheim; six grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, John, Irvin, Henry, Miriam Forry, and Anna Mary Lehman. A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA. Private interment will be in Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery, Mount Joy. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at Hoffer Auditorium on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. All are invited to join the family for a luncheon at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim immediately following the service.
