Obituary of Helen F. Ettenger

Helen F. Ettenger, 90, of 900 East King Street, Lancaster, PA, formerly of Bordentown, NJ, died peacefully Thursday morning, November 26, 2009 at Conestoga View in Lancaster following a lengthy illness. Born in Whitings, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Segrid A. Ireland Winton. She was the wife of the late Z. Robert Ettenger who died in 1967.
Prior to moving to Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ettenger was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bordentown, NJ. She was employed as a clerk by the former Corvettes Clothing Store in Trenton, New Jersey and was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Local No. 1371 in Bordentown. In addition to sewing and crocheting, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and caring for children.
She is survived by a son, Robert L. Ettenger of Ephrata, PA; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sara Leake of Lacey Twp., NJ and Elizabeth Bateman of Whitings, NJ. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley H. Benson, a sister, Dolly Forker, and a brother, Eric Winton.
Services will be private. There will be no viewing. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
