Obituary of Paul E. Miller

Paul E. Miller, 81, of 3001 Lititz Pike, Townhouse Apt. #123, Lancaster, PA, formerly of the Elizabethtown area, went home to be with his Lord on Friday morning, August 13, 2001 at Brethren Village in Lancaster. Born in Conoy Twp., Lancaster County, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur K. and Katie W. Ebersole Miller. He was the husband of Kathryn M. Ginder Miller for 62 years on June 26, 2010. Paul was a member of Chiques Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon. Prior to retiring in 1991, he was employed for 38 years by Agway, Inc. in Lancaster as a petroleum deliveryman and assistant manager. He was also employed part-time by Manheim Auto Auction. Paul enjoyed hunting big game in the western United States and at Pine View hunting cabin in Potter County, where he was a member and where he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also skilled in archery and was awarded many trophies in archery competition. He was a member of Big Chiques Bowmen. Paul also enjoyed trout fishing, gardening, doing lawn work, and bowled on several leagues. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, John G., husband of Sharon K. Myer Miller, of Bethel, PA, James G., husband of Carol J. Bowman Miller, of Palmyra, PA, and Joyce G., wife of Melvin L. Zimmerman, of Manheim, PA; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three brothers, Albert Miller of Manheim, David Miller of Lititz, PA, and Arthur, Jr., husband of Ruth Miller, of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Ruth Kathryn "Ruthie" Dimitris. Family and guests are invited to attend a funeral service at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA on Tuesday morning, August 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Ministers Ron Strickler, Nathan Myer, and John Miller officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Guests may call at the church on Monday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made to the building fund of Chiques Church.
