Obituary of Michael L. Mishler

Michael L. Mishler, 64, of 1466 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA, formerly of Ephrata, died Tuesday morning, January 4, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital, in Lancaster, PA of natuarl causes following a decline in health. Born in Ephrata, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer R. and Florence T. Pfautz Mishler. He was the husband of Paula R. Leberfinger Mishler for 32 years on August 26, 2010. Mike was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Lititz, PA. He was educated in the Conestoga Valley School District. He served in the United States Amy as a Specialist 4th class during the Vietnam War. It was then he was a Purple Heart recipient and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Prior to retiring in 2002, Mike was an owner/operator truck driver for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and playing computer games. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angie M., wife of Bryan J. Woolf, of Lititz, and Aimee R., wife of Colt Hevener, of Lititz; three grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald E., husband of Cheryl Mishler, of Harrisburg, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Carl Mishler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz, PA on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. James J. O'Blaney, C.Ss.R. as celebrant. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Final farewell and commendation will be in Penryn Cemetery, Penryn, PA on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The family requests that flowers please be omitted.
