Obituary of Lucille M. Nice

Lucille M. Nice, 88, of 73 Kindred Place, Annville, PA, formerly of Palmyra, PA and Vero Beach, FL, went home to be with her Lord on Friday afternoon, January 28, 2011 at Lebanon Valley Home in Annville. Born in Silverdale, Bucks Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel W. and Della Long Moyer. She was the wife of Lt. Col. (Retired) Royden P. "Roy" Nice of 67 years on March 27th. A homemaker, she was a member of Palm Evangelical Lutheran Church in Palmyra prior to moving to Vero Beach. She was a member of the Officers' Wives Club and a former member of both the Palmyra Women's Club and Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to dancing, she enjoyed playing golf and bridge. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Terrill A., wife of David Shipley, of Cincinnati, OH, and Cynthia N., wife of Warren "Barney" Myer of Mount Gretna, PA; a son, Jeffrey R., husband of Terri Nice, of Keymar, MD; three grandchildren, Michael D. Shipley, Megan K. Keiter, and Thomas C. Keiter; and a great grandson, Jeffrey Shipley. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Hackett and Frances Schmidt; and a brother, A. Roscoe Moyer. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Palm Lutheran Church, 11 West Cherry Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Dr. John D. Merkel officiating. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the church on the morning of the service from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
