Obituary of Allen S. Gibble

Allen S. Gibble, 82, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Penryn, PA, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Cedar Haven, Lebanon, PA. Born in Rapho Twp., Lancaster County, PA, he was the son of the late Allen and Lillian Snyder Gibble. He was the husband of Bettie A. Ruhl Gibble for 56 years on May 22, 2010. "Gibble", as he was known by his family, was a member of Quentin United Church of Christ in Quentin, PA. Prior to retiring in 1993, he was a self-employed painter and co-owner of Gibble and Brandt Painting. Previously, he was employed as a painter by J.G. Baker of Manheim. He was a member of Elstonville Sportsmen Club and Hemlock Archer's Club. He enjoyed bow hunting, competitive archery, and hiking. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a niece, Jean G., wife of John W. Bomberger, of Manheim who lived with Gibble and his wife until she was married. He is also survived by a sister, Rhoda Gibble of Palmyra, PA; four nieces, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mervin Gibble. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, East 28th Division Highway, Brickerville, PA on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jacquelyn M. Lingelbach officiating. There will be no public viewing. If desired, contributions may be made to Hemlock Archer's Club, 99 Spring Hill Lane, Lebanon, PA 17042.
