Obituary of Sylvia Kuch

Sylvia Grosch Kuch, 83, died Friday afternoon, June 17, 2011 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim, PA. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Irene Kreiter Grosch of Lancaster County, PA. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David H. Kuch, and her four children Kathleen L. SanDoe (husband Paul A.) of Conowingo, MD, Nancy E. K. Deardorff (husband Glenn E.) of Chambersburg, PA, Lawrence D. Kuch of Lancaster, PA, and James E. Kuch (wife Janice H. Bartlett Kuch) of North Royalton, OH. She enjoyed 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Kuch was a graduate of Drexel University, Class of 1950. She had lived in Philadelphia, PA, Natick, MA, Ridgewood, NJ, Madison, OH, and Elizabethtown, PA. In addition to raising four children, she was a past president of the American Association of University Women, played the harp, was a dedicated volunteer at the Fulton and Hershey Theaters, and a world traveler. Additionally, she was an active member of Donegal Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy, PA, where she sang in the choir, was a Deaconess, and past president of the Women's Association. A memorial service will be held at Donegal Presbyterian Church, 1891 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552, on Saturday morning, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. There will be no viewing. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall at which time the family will receive friends.
