Obituary of Thomas C. Kane

Thomas C. Kane, 74, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Friday morning, May 31, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon following a brief illness.  Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Peter P. Kane and Claribel Artz Kane Snyder.  He was the husband of Betty E. Gantz Kane for 37 years on July 10.

 

Tom was baptized in the Lutheran faith.  He served in the United States Air Force as an airman second class during the Vietnam War.  He completed his training as a machinist in San Bernadino, CA and returned to Pennsylvania to practice his trade at various area machine shops.  He retired in 2004 from the former AMP, Inc. where he was a machinist for 10 years.

 

Tom was a member of the Abraham C. Treichler, F&AM No. 682, in Elizabethtown, the Manheim VFW, and the Lititz American Legion.  He enjoyed his cats, camping, gardening, and drinking good wine, especially Riesling.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert H. Kane of Greensboro, NC; and two grandchildren, Aubrey Kane and Spencer Kane.
