Obituary of Phyllis J. Plowman

Phyllis J. Plowman, 69, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, January 30, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital following a year long battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Faye Quade Fisher. She was the wife of David T. Plowman for 27 years in May. A homemaker, Phyllis attended Lancaster Alliance Church. She was employed for four years as an assistant supervisor by McDonald’s at various restaurants in the Lancaster area. She also operated a children’s day care in her home. Phyllis enjoyed western style square dancing and was past president of the Do-Pas-O Square Dance Club. In addition to collecting Beanie Babies and crocheting, she enjoyed camping, Caribbean cruises, and sharing many other enjoyable times with David. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Andrew Thomas and Veronica, wife of Richard Fetterhoff, both of Lancaster; three stepchildren, David Plowman of Baxter, MN, Theresa, wife of Robert Fisher, of Kleinfeltersville, and Kenneth Luckenbill of Columbia; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three siblings, Patty, wife of Ken Price, of Gap, Joyce Sweigart of Gulf Shores, AL, and Timmy, husband of Irene Quade, of Willow Street. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Grace Gebhard Fisher; two children, Theresa and Raymond; and a brother. A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster, PA. Private interment will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia. The family will receive guests at a viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
