Obituary of Maurice J. Sullivan

Maurice J. “Sonny” Sullivan, 76, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away in his sleep on Thursday evening, April 16, 2020 at Mount Hope Retirement Community in Manheim following a period of declining health. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Maurice and Ellen Halpin Sullivan. He was the husband of Patricia J. Grzgorzewski Sullivan for 35 years before her passing in 2002. Sonny was baptized into the Catholic faith. He served his country in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was the owner of Sonny’s Sunoco in the Lawndale neighborhood of northeast Philadelphia. He later enjoyed his employment as a truckdriver for Penske Logistics. He was true to the Philadelphia Eagles. Sonny is survived by a son, Brian K., husband of Elisa J. Grossmann G’Sullivan, of Manheim; two grandsons, Austin and Jesse G’Sullivan; and a sister Mary T. Sullivan of Marlton, NJ.
