Our family was saddened to hear of his passing. We always knew him as 'Mr. Rick' from kidministry at Manheim. We attend the LCBC Lebanon campus now, but several years ago when we were attending Manheim, Mr. Rick was instrumental in our son's spiritual development. Our son would cry and cling to our legs when we would drop him off at his environment. We tried several different treasure cove rooms, including the smaller breakout rooms like the dolphin and seal rooms. Nothing worked and our son Bennett was really struggling to go in. Then we tried the Seahorse room (I think) and Bennett met Mr. Rick. Mr. Rick was fun and welcoming and Bennett warmed up to him very quickly. Over the next months he was excited to go to his environment and see Mr. Rick. They would give each other high fives and play together. There is no doubt in our minds that Mr. Rick was the turning point for Bennett loving church and being excited about going and that continues to this day.
