Dear Wenger family,
We are so grateful for the Christian care that Calvin extended to us when we attended LCOB. He was always interested in how we were, how our parents and family were, etc. How comfortable he was to talk to. How interested and engaged he was in other people's life journeys. We felt fortunate that we knew him, so we say thank you to the Lord for his presence among us all. Our sincerest condolences we extend to you all. Siang Hua Wang and Joanne Swords-Wang

Dear Shirley and family, On behalf of the John D. and Inez Long family, I send our sincere condolences to you all on the passing of your dear husband, father, brother, relative, minister, professional, and compassionate friend to thousands. Calvin was a giant in his ministry, especially at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren for his entire life. I cannot adequately express the gratitude and respect my parents held for him as he remained the constant shepherd and anchor at the Lancaster church. When he entered a room, everyone was comforted. And we loved his stories and good humor. No one could fill Calvin's shoes. What a loss for us all. Blessings to you and your loved ones. Kathy Long Missildine

Dear Shirley and the rest of your lovely family – Judy and I were quite saddened and very sorrowful to learn of Calvin’s passing. Please allow us to express our most sincere condolences to you all. Of course it was through Calvin’s practice of being a Chiropractor that we learned to know him and come to love him. He provided years of expert care for my wife and myself. For me he was more than just a very skilled Chiropractor, he was also a wonderful listener as we talked about a myriad of subjects over the course of my treatments. No subject was off topic or not allowed. He was quite wise and I valued his opinions very highly. He was also very funny and many times answered with a twinkle in his eye. He truly was a man of GOD and he definitely put his beliefs into practice every second of the day. It is awe-inspiring for me to imagine the homecoming he is having on those other shores. Again, we are truly sorry for your loss, but we do rejoice with you that he is now resting in the arms of his LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. Please allow me to share some words of comfort and scripture that are especially meaningful to me at the loss of a dear loved one. … GOD in love has promised grace for every trial, strength for every sorrow, help for every mile, and may GOD in sympathy and unfailing love impart help for each tomorrow and new courage to your heart. … “Cast your burdens upon the LORD, and GOD shall sustain you; The LORD shall never allow the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22) … “Cast all your cares upon GOD, for the LORD GOD cares for you.” (1st Peter 5:7) … Grace and peace to you from GOD our FATHER and from the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Sincerely, Judy and Fred Holler … thehollerhole@comcast.net
