Obituary of Patrick Meenehan
M. Patrick Meenehan, 77, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Arlington, VA, passed away on Thursday evening, October 5, 2023 at his residence. Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth DeVreas Meenehan. Patrick was the husband of Patricia M. "Patti" Meenehan for 27 years on August 3.
Patrick was a member of Rulh's United Methodist Church in Manheim. After he graduated from high school, he enlisted in the Navy Reserve and then was called into active duty and was wounded in the line of duty. Patrick studied technology at Virginia Tech and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant & Stratton College. After Patrick retired as a computer technician, he continued to be a computer hobbyist and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge with others.
Patrick was committed to nearly 40 years of sobriety and was grateful to AA for his accomplishments. In addition to gardening and fishing, he had a keen interest in airplanes, especially B-52s. He will be remembered as a great storyteller, a jokester, and spending time at the shore. Foremost, he loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepsons, Matthew Michael of Manheim (significant other of Jill Siggins of Reading), and Marcus, husband of Jody Michael, of Manheim; and four grandchildren, Tanner, Kassidy, and Lauren Michael, and Chesney Brock; and two sisters Terry, wife of David Capatano, of Virginia, and Janet, wife of Stephen Point, of Rehoboth Beach, DE. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Kathleen Meenehan and John Meenehan.
