Obituary of Shirley C. Eppy

Shirley C. Eppy, 66, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at her home. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elsie Ardell Seeley. She was the wife of Garry R. Eppy for 44 years on November 8. Since moving to Manheim in 2009, she was a member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren in Lititz, PA. A missionary with Africa Inland Mission (AIM), Shirley served as a school nurse at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya for 18 years. Shirley was committed to memorizing Christian scripture and often spoke to women's groups. She also enjoyed taking photographs of flowers and other natural scenes that she would relate in some way to her life story. These photos would frequently become part of one of her many scrap books. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Kristy M. Stevenson, wife of Leons Baranovskis, of Mahwah, NJ, and Dwayne B. Eppy of Philadelphia, PA; and two granddaughters, Michayla Stevenson and Ieva Baranovskis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bryon Seeley. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at 11 AM at Middlecreek Church of the Brethren, 351 West Middle Creek Rd, Lititz, with the Rev. John Hess officiating. Interment will be private. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests on Wednesday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted.
