I would like to offer my condolences to Mrs. Fisher and family on Gene's passing. I worked with Gene at the Mountville Plant for several years before his move to Nebraska. With his patience and skill he taught me a lot about the welding shop and I will always be grateful. Gene was a good teacher and always offered his encouragement when the job got tough. It was nice seeing Gene at the Mountville breakfast get-togethers and enjoy his company. The lessons Gene gave me in those early days helped me throughout my 47 year career at New Holland. Dear Ruth, Sorry to hear of Genes untimely death. I found Gene to be a very congenial person and enjoyed his company very much. He had a twinkle in his eye that always made me smile. We will all miss this wonderfully witty and thoughtful man. He was a brother-in-law we always looked forward to visiting, spending time with him and Ruth. It's hard to believe that we will no longer be playing cards around their table with Gene. We look forward to our joyous reunion!

Gene was a great man and had a profound influence on me. Unlike most of my friends fathers, Gene always took a keen interest in what I was up to and I always felt safe telling him what I had on my mind. From my experience with Gene, he rarely took the easy path and was never quick to judge. My prayers go out to Ruth, Junior and the rest of the family. He will be missed.
