Obituary of A. Lois Bucher

A. Lois (Myer) Bucher of Landisville, 75, went Home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community in Manheim following an illness of eight years. Lois was the daughter of the late Amos and Eleanor (Wenger) Myer. She and her husband, James C. Bucher, were married for 53 years 3½ months. An LPN and homemaker, she most recently worked for former Hospice of Lancaster County for 13 years. With her husband, she was deeply involved in church work. Her compassionate nature was known to many. Lois is survived by her husband, James C. Bucher; four children, J. Calvin Bucher, husband of Rebecca, Brenda Long, wife of Daryl, J. Kenneth Bucher, husband of Ylande, and A. Kathryn Bucher; 10 grandchildren, Kristopher, Karyn, Kevin, Kristieana, Charles, Tiara, Tory, Talitha, Ymonie, and Joshua; four great grandchildren; three siblings, John Myer, husband of Gayle, Charles Myer, husband of Kay, and Rachel Miller, wife of Glen; and a brother-in-law, Richard Landis. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Landis. Her family wishes to thank all those who have helped with Lois's care in the last years of her life. A memorial service will be held on Monday evening December 28, 2015 at 7:00 PM at East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA. Private interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Monday from 5:30 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
