Many years ago, Fern was working at the customer service department at a Woolworth department store. She was tired from working her eight hour shift and picked up the microphone to speak to the store's customers. She said " thankyou for shopping at Jamesway". Since her store was a Woolworth store, all the customers headed for the exits and off to Jamesway they went.
