Obituary of Joel B. Kaltreider

Joel B. Kaltreider, 74, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Elizabethtown, went home to be with his Lord unexpectedly on Sunday morning, October 9, 2016 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center in Lititz. Born in York, he was the son of the late Clarence L. and Elsie M. Lehman Kaltreider. He was the loving husband of Carol A.E. Davis Kaltreider for 52 years on December 28. Joel was a member of Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church where he served as a deacon. After moving to Brethren Village, he attended Neffsville Mennonite Church. Joel enjoyed listening to classical music and singing in both church choirs, as well as the choir and chorale at Brethren Village. He was employed for more than 25 years as a "haberdasher" (purveyor of men's clothing) by the former David Martin's Men's Wear in Elizabethtown until the store's closing in the late 1990s. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bruce J. Kaltreider, fiancé of Brenda J. Gonzalez, of Lakeland, FL; a daughter-in-law, Tina Kaltreider of Marietta; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Ryan, and Briana Kaltreider. He was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Thelma and Velma Kaltreider; a son, Jeffrey L. Kaltreider; and a grandson, Derek Kaltreider. A memorial service will be held on Friday afternoon, October 14, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers.
