Obituary of Dean L. Saylor

Dean L. Saylor, 51, of Lititz, PA, went home to be with his Lord on Monday morning, October 9, 2017 at his home following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Leroy M. and Rose M. King Saylor of Lititz and the late Sandra E. Petticoffer Saylor. He was the loving husband of Linda A. Nolt Saylor. They would have been married for 29 years on October 15. Dean was an active member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren in Lititz where he served as a trustee, treasurer, and Jr. High youth advisor. He also taught Vacation Bible School and was a men's ministry leader. After graduating from Ephrata Area High School in 1984, he was employed as an equipment operator by Martin Paving in Lititz. For the last 25 years, he was the public works superintendent for Warwick Twp. Dean enjoyed spending time with his family camping and at the shore, especially the Outer Banks. He was also an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. His interests and talents were varied and vast. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Mitchell A. Saylor and Kristin D. Saylor, both at home; two siblings, J. Dennis, husband of Michele Saylor, of Lititz, and Diane L., wife of David Lechlitner, of Denver, PA; and parents-in-law, Elvin M. and Verna M. Nolt of Manheim. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday evening from 6-9:00 PM and on Friday morning from 9:30-10:45 AM.
