I have many fond memories of my wonderful Uncle Harry! He was one of the few "good guys" on this earth. He was loving and kind, true blue, honest to the core, gentle and strong, friendly and helpful to all, etc. I was privileged to stay with my grandparents while he was living with them and was dating Aunt Dodie. He would rush home from work, get cleaned up and with great enthusiasm go on dates with Dodie. Even as a young teenager, it was easy to see that they were meant for each other. Since then they have been pillars in the community and set steadfast examples for all of us. I thank God I am part of their family.

On one of our all-too-seldom visits to Uncle Harry's and Aunt Dodie's trim, comfortable home in Rheems, PA, my uncle brought out his latest creation. He called it "The Thing". It was a mysterious, cube-shaped, black, wooden box. When he flipped a switch, multicolored lights on the front of it started to blink on and off in various patterns. It was like something out of a 1960s science fiction movie! Uncle Harry had created "The Thing" in his basement workshop. Combining his experience as an electrician and his woodworking hobby, he'd come up with the crazy idea. As a young girl, I was fascinated by it, and my admiration for this fun and creative man increased.

Uncle Harry was my favorite uncle. It seemed to me that he was always calm and kind. We always enjoyed our visits to Rheems to see him and Aunt Dodie. We're sorry for your loss, and know that he will be greatly missed. Even so, may you be comforted as you envision his joyous homecoming to his Lord, his parents, sisters, and dear nephew, Ray. Our prayers are with you Aunt Dodie, Vicki, and Jack. Love, Joanne and Dan

Many thoughts and prayers to all the family in the weeks and months to come! There is a time in your life when you need that special person for help and Harry was that individual! In a time when my family was in crisis the morning my father passed away he was the first person to arrive and offer help and support. I will never forget how much that meant to me and my family even to this day! May god speed on his last journey, well done and forever thankful!
