My name is Jonathan and I played softball with Ron, what a great guy to know and what a beautiful smile. It was my honor to get to know this kind and quiet man who played and said little. My very heart felt sympathies go out to you and the family, he was a man worth knowing and I could look into his eyes and knew I was dealing with a really humane and kind man. I am so sorry for you loss, I know he is in heaven with the lord and I also know from knowing him that he knew that all the while. I was honored to know him and I keep you all in my prayers and thoughts.

I would like to express my condolences to Ron's family. Ron and I worked together for several years at High Steel. Ron lived by his Christian values, no matter what the task. You could always count on Ron to do the right thing not matter the circumstance.

As the coach and scorekeeper of the Fairview softball team, we have enjoyed Ron's presence on the team for the past 3 years. Ron was a great team player and his skills helped us to win many a ball game! Ron will be sorely missed by all.

As you know, I have both gone to school with Ron, and have worked with him for many years. I am shocked and sadden by his sudden passing. I just want you to know the lessons that Ron taught me over the years. Ron’s quiet and kind demeanor was the hallmark of his attributes. In all the years that I worked with Ron, I never saw him angry. I always believed that he was the best supervisor at HSSI. He never got tired of working to improve their products. He certainty had a major impact in developing the excellent reputation that HSSI has earned over the years. His Christian values were always transparent by the way he lived his life. I admired him for facing life with such a positive attitude. His modesty was another one of his virtues. He had many things to be proud of, but he never boasted or demonstrated that pride. His work with Habitat is one of many examples that show his admirable character. Everyone that knew Ron has to be a better person because of his example. All of us that walked with him were taught a valuable lesson on how to live and love. I too join all of you in shedding tears over the loss of this wonderful life. I’m sure God had a reason for calling him and he now is enjoying the reward that he earned while on Earth. I will never forget Ron and I thank God that our paths crossed. Love, Dale Aulthouse

Dear Judy, Pam, and Rhonda - I was both shocked and saddened to learn of Ron's passing. What fond memories I have with such a terrific neighbor! And how sad I am that I never actually stopped to say hello all the times that I've thought of doing so when driving by. Ron touched so many lives over the years, in so many different way. Now that I have seen Ron's photo on the Spence website, I recall him from East Lampeter school days, even though that was well more than 50 years ago. Dale Aulthouse summed it up in most excellent terms. I left the Lancaster area a long time ago and have lost contact with those in school. However, I feel for his wife and children; they are enduring a tremendous loss. He and many others volunteering for Habitat are selfless individuals who contribute to those who have little. Ron has sacrificed all for those who need housing. I offer my sincere condolences to his family. He was doing the will of God and fulfilling the scriptures of love for his fellow human beings in his good works. May Ron be in Paradise with the everloving Creator who has called him home.
