Growing up, I always liked both the Steelers (because that was my dad's team) and the Vikings... I never recalled why, or what drove me to like the Vikings. While attending Joe's service yesterday, there were (purple and yellow) flowers on his coffin and I later noticed a Vikings Cap was placed within the flowers. I'm now wondering if Joe was my inspiration for liking the Vikings.
I grew up just down the road from Joe and took the same bus to school with him ever since the second grade. I considered him a good friend and will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
RIP Joe!

I sat next to Joe in Miss Sturgis's 1st grade class. My earliest memory of Joe was sitting between him and Ron Bowman in class. The boys were talking and carrying on and I was telling them to be quiet, but of course I got in trouble too. We had to write "I will talk not talk in class" it seemed like a hundred times. I was very touched when Joe called me last year to offer his condolences at the loss of my husband. He spoke with a choked up voice saying how sorry he was for our loss. We continued to talk several times and message on Facebook. I was thankful for the recent contact with Joe. May he have everlasting peace and joy in the presence of our Lord. My prayers are with all of the family at this difficult time.

Sincere Sympathy to the family of Joe Haddad, I was saddened to read of Joe's unexpected death at such a young age. I'm thinking and praying for you at his funeral and burial this afternoon. At this difficult time may you feel the caring prayers of friends and the loving arms of God about you, holding you close to Himself and each other. May pleasant memories of happy times with Joe bring comfort, peace and healing as you adjust to his absence. I remember him as a fun-loving and obedient fifth-grader in my 1973-1974 class. He dressed neatly, was respectful and well-mannered. I cherish good memories of your likable son and brother. In My Teacher Album, I have a class picture with him standing tall in the back row. If you do not have this photo and would like it, I can scan and email, or mail, it to you. Let me know by email or phone: 717-859-3397. - Mary Becker, the former "Miss Wenger"

To Mrs Haddad & Family, I was saddened to hear about Joe. I was glad when Joe and Keith reconnected. Today we sat and talked about him. He is very sad about what happened and will miss him greatly. Take Care, Pat Gravesande (Keith Doutrichs mother)
